Adopt A SchoolCommunity involvement is an essential part of achieving our most important goal - life preservation. One way this goal is met is through our local schools.

The main purpose of the “Adopt a School Program” is to provide annual fire inspections, to update the department’s pre-fire plans, and to interact with the children in our community. Each Fire Captain is assigned to one or more neighborhood schools and works with each school's staff on a variety of fire and life safety topics, including:

  • Stop, Drop and Roll
  • When to Call 9-1-1
  • Fire Escape Plans
  • Safety of Matches & Lighters
  • Other age appropriate safety topics
