The division of land in which new lots are created is subject to the provisions of the Subdivision Map Act and City Ordinance. A tentative map approval is required to divide land. Application and processing information can be obtained through the Planning Division.
A parcel map is required to subdivide property into four parcels or less and is approved by the City Engineer. A Subdivision Map is required to subdivide property into 5 or more parcels and requires approval from the City Council.
Boundary Adjustments involve in adjusting existing property lines between 4 or less parcels in which no additional parcels are created.
A lot merger involves combining two or more adjacent parcels into a single parcel.
