Building permits are issued when all approvals are in place and the project is ready to begin construction. Projects that require grading permits are necessary to have the grading complete and the building pad certified prior to the issuance of the building permit. All new buildings require verification of water and sewer service in the form of a “will serve” letter from the water district having jurisdiction. All projects that add habitable square footage require compliance with the San Marcos School District school fee requirements.
Prior to permit issuance, projects involving new construction of Residential or Commercial structures, Tenant Improvements or Demolitions are required to submit a completed and verified San Diego County Hazardous/Air Quality and a Vallecitos Water District Worksheet.
All fees are due and payable at the time the building permit is issued.
