Bradley Bike Park recently received its annual sealing treatment, a key part of maintaining the park’s dirt tracks and jump lines.
While many cities rely on contractors for this specialized task, San Marcos staff developed a cost-saving, in-house method. Public Works crews mix a special polymer—similar to Elmer’s Glue—with finely sifted sand using a large mixer. The blend is then spread evenly across the track using small push brooms. Once dry, the seal strengthens and protects the track, helping it withstand daily use and changing weather.
Thanks to this careful process, Bradley Bike Park remains a safe and fun place for the community to ride.
