Our Services

With 16 major community parks and 18 mini parks, San Marcos lives up to its nickname—“San Parkos.” Our parks are perfect for outdoor sports, community gatherings, or a family picnic. The City’s extensive and growing 72-mile trail network is great for hiking, biking, running, and equestrian use.

Reservable Shelter

Splashpad Hours
Operates daily for 15 minutes at the following times:
11 am; 12:30 pm; 2 pm; 3:30 pm; 5 pm

Discovery Lake and Stream Rules
No swimming or wading is allowed.
Fishing is allowed only from shorelines or the dock.
The City recommends catch and release fishing with barbless hooks.
A fishing license is required for all individuals over the age of 16 years.
No boats, inflatables or rafts are allowed.
No gas powered model boats or airplanes (tethered or by remote control) allowed at any public park, except in an area designated by the Parks & Recreation Commission as part of a specific park regulation, or by special permit.
