With 16 major community parks and 18 mini parks, San Marcos lives up to its nickname—“San Parkos.” Our parks are perfect for outdoor sports, community gatherings, or a family picnic. The City’s extensive and growing 72-mile trail network is great for hiking, biking, running, and equestrian use.

The All Veterans Memorial is at Helen Bougher Park in San Marcos. The park is located at the corner of Woodland Parkway and Borden Road.
The memorial honors any veteran who has served or is honorably serving in the United States Armed Services.
The memorial includes a slightly curved wall with veterans' names etched on travertine tiles.
Limited memorial tiles are available for purchase; see Helen Bougher Memorial Policy for details.A group of San Marcos community volunteers raised funds for the construction of the memorial project. The City of San Marcos provides park space and ongoing maintenance of the site.
