19th Annual San Marcos Trails Day

Trails Day 2008 - Hikers

All Ages
Put on your hiking shoes or saddle up your horses to step back in time & hike the rural trails of San Marcos to promote the extensive trails system in the City of San Marcos. All funds raised from the 18th Annual San Marcos Trails Day & the Friends of San Marcos Parks & Trails Membership Drive directly benefit existing 52 miles of trails & help complete the final segments of the 72 mile multi-use trail system as well as fund other projects, including the outdoor learning program at Jack’s Pond Nature Center.

Trails Day 2008 - 7mi Hikers

Staging Area
South end of Santa Barbara St. From H78, take Twin Oaks Valley Rd. & go south. Turn right on Craven Rd., then left on Santa Barbara St. Google Maps 

Community Services staff & volunteers will assist with registration & Friends of San Marcos Parks & Trails membership drive. Registration is FREE, Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Trails Day 2008 - Equestrians

3, 5.5 or 7Mile Hikes
Participants will choose from 3, 5.5 or 7mile hikes of various speed levels to South Lake or to Double Peak, one of the highest peaks in San Marcos. Special access to trails not usually open to the public will allow views of South Lake, Double Peak & the surrounding Valley of Discovery.
