Annual Trails Day

Trails give us a means to support good physical and mental health; they provide us with a chance to breathe fresh air, get our hearts pumping, and escape from our stresses. The City of San Marcos celebrates the vast amount of trails within the city at this annual event.

San Marcos Family Campout

Every summer, families sleep under the stars and enjoy crafts, games and a flashlight hike. Dinner and continental breakfast are included.

FREE Movies in the Park

Pre-show activities start at 6:30 pm. Movies start at dusk!
Bring beach chairs or blankets for lawn seating. Presented on a giant inflatable screen.

Poker riders

Horse Heritage Festival

Family activities include pony rides, frontier games, a petting corral, Heritage Park House &

Museum tours! 

Annual Poker Ride ‘n Stride 9 am (sign in at 8 am)

Enjoy a 3 Mile “Ride & Stride” along Twin Oaks Valley's quiet, horse-friendly trail system.  Proceeds from the Poker Ride help to improve the public horse show grounds at Walnut Grove Park.

Hikes

The City of San Marcos showcases their trail system by having a monthly hike on the first Saturday of each month. Each hike starts at a different location. The hikes are led by park rangers. All are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult, this event is free.
