City seeks sponsors for annual San Marcos Fireworks Extravaganza
San Marcos annual show paid for by community donations
Contributions to fund the City of San Marcos’ annual Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks Extravaganza are being sought from community members and businesses.
The popular fireworks display is funded entirely by these generous donations, not by city tax dollars. Donations will be accepted now through Tuesday, June 26.
“Offered for more than 40 years of spirited family fun, this annual event offers residents a way to safely enjoy fireworks while celebrating our nation’s independence,” said Parks and Recreation Director Buck Martin. “With live music, children’s activities, food for purchase and culminating with a great pyrotechnic display, this event has something for everyone.”
People interested in donating to the Fourth of July Celebration may send their tax-deductible contribution to the San Marcos Fireworks Fund, 3 Civic Center Drive, San Marcos, 92069. Online donations may also be made by visiting, www.gofundme.com/SM2018Fireworks.
The event will take place at Bradley Park, 1587 Linda Vista Drive, with live entertainment starting at 6 pm and the fireworks display at 9 pm. Carnival games, jumpers and food sales will be available on-site.
