City to kick off summer with Mini Music Fest, a prelude to annual summer concert series
The City of San Marcos will kick off summer with the San Marcos Mini Music Fest at the Wood House in Woodland Park, 1148 Rock Springs Road on Saturday, June 30 from 2 to 8 pm.
“We’re excited to host local talent and continue showcasing San Marcos as a recreation destination that offers unique family-friendly experiences,” said Parks and Recreation Director Buck Martin. “The summer concert series is offered every year, so we’re thrilled to be able to kick things off with multiple bands.”
With four bands performing, the music fest brings appearances from Craig’s Band, Road Noise, Bill Magee’s Blues Band and Jumping Jack Flash.
Barbecue and beverages from Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will be sold on-site. Beachin’ Boba will also be at the event selling coffee and other sweet treats. The Friends of San Marcos Parks and Recreation will be providing a beer and wine garden for those 21 years and older. Local craft beer and wine vendors including Stone Brewery, Lost Abbey, Markstein and Twin Oaks Valley Winery will be pouring crowd favorites.
“San Marcos is increasingly becoming a destination for top-notch dining, great craft beer, and gourmet food vendors so we are excited to feature a few at the event. By partnering with local business and organizations like the Friends of San Marcos Parks and Recreation, proceeds stay local,” said Martin.
Attendees are encouraged to bring beach chairs or blankets for lawn seating. Presale tickets are $12; tickets will be $15 at the door and children under 12 are free. Parking is free and a free shuttle will be available to transfer guests from overflow parking located at the San Marcos Senior Activity Center, 111 Richmar Avenue.
